Members Choice Names Fourteen 2024 Scholarship Winners
Release date: June
Ashland, KY (June 2024) – Members Choice Credit Union recently awarded thirteen scholarships to help student member-owners meet higher education goals.
Members Choice began establishing scholarship funds about two decades ago to benefit member-owners attaining a post-secondary education. Members Choice received more than 50 applications for this year's awards. Members Choice Scholarship Program has awarded $200,000 to date. The 2024 Scholarship Program will award an additional $14,000, bringing our total to $214,000 awarded to local students.
Inspired by the Board of Directors, the scholarship encourages graduating high school students to pursue post-secondary education. The Members Choice Scholarship Program helps offset rising tuition costs for students and their families. "We are committed to advancing the economic strength of local counties," said Grace Roar, Community Engagement Advocate.
"These scholarships help local students gain the knowledge and skills needed to fill local jobs and become contributing members of their communities. This next generation of young professionals will play a significant role in the continued growth of our local and state economies. We want to help give them all the opportunities available to advance their education and enhance their careers."
"This year's applicants showed an impressive caliber of accomplishment, making selecting winners that much tougher. Leadership and enthusiasm were enormous," said Donna Hewlett, Scholarship Committee Chairperson. "We congratulate Members Choice 2024 scholarship winners for continued excellence in their schools and communities."
